“The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.”

About RECSDG

The Rotary E-Club of San Diego Global was started in February 2016 and is the only Rotary E-Club in San Diego. We meet once a month via Zoom to connect and discuss our projects. We are a group of professionals from all backgrounds and diverse countries united by a purpose to help our local and global communities.

We engage our members and visitors mainly virtually, but also meet in person a few times a year. When we are able to meet in person in San Diego we have had guest speakers on topics related to Rotary’s mission.  Our international members are able to participate virtually in any presentations or meetings held in San Diego.

We are a small Rotary Club with a strong international focus. Many of our members have international roots and are interested in supporting global Rotary projects. In the short time we have been chartered we have either participated and/or completed International and District grants.

How Rotary chooses projects (4-Way Test)

1-Is it the truth?

2-Is it fair to all concerned?

3-Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4-Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Our Strategy

Cultural learning — fostered through forum discussions posted on our website.  Each month there will be a controversial global topic (e.g. income inequality, refugee crisis, global warming, etc) posted for members to respond to. This will provide an opportunity for cross-cultural dialogue and expression.

A global network of like-minded people with varied life experiences, ages, cultures, etc.

Resources to get projects done — we will be a part of Rotary District 5430 which has numerous established clubs and funding opportunities.

Flexibility — a forum to turn ideas beyond the norm into projects.

An online format — whenever possible meetings will be held online.
